Here are a couple of items to whet your appetite for this coming Saturday’s attractions. The Teatime Infuser Mug comes with its own matching Canister and we’re going to add a package of tea. The floral tea set is a beautiful china mug with lid and a sugar and creamer on a tray. The sugar bowl even has its own spoon. Aren’t they beautiful? Our back office is now busy making all the packages for you. They will be unveiled on Saturday, Nov. 12.

New Teaware at the Tea Room

We got in some new merchandise last week. This is the Magic Dragon red-and-black infuser mug with the beautifully designed double handle and the teapot that resembles Aladdin’s lamp! And look at these gorgeous blue and white bamboo patterned tea mugs. The 4-cup Chatsford teapot behind it makes a perfect set. Come in and take a look!

Iced Tea Pitchers

Our great Iced Tea Pitchers are back by popular demand. These are a step beyond the last version, I must say. Made in Italy, they now have a easily removed hermetically sealed cap. You can safely take these anywhere and store your Iced Tea or other beverages in the fridge. We steep our tea and then fill the pitcher with ice and pour the tea over ice. Each holds about 16 oz. Stores well, cleans well and solid in construction. They’re at the Tea Room, $10/piece.

April, new month, new offerings..

Don’t know about you but I’m done with snow, sleet and rain. Just appreciating the sunshine today. April Fools yesterday and sure enough, we fools suffered through a little snow mixed with rain in the morning. So I’m starting April a day late but on a nice bright morning. Today marks the official beginning to our Spring Dessert Menu. This is a first for us. We’ve always done a Winter and Summer version but this year we’ve introduced an interim seasonal menu. Our customers have been asking for fruit and lighter fare and we’ve introduced both. The Yogurt with Berries is wonderfully refreshing while still decadent and sweet enough to satisfy that craving for an indulgent dessert. The 4 tarts are terriffic but not for folks with nut allergies. These are full of them! Of the many we tasted, we selected our top four – Macadamia, Pistachio, Mixed Berry and Apple. We’ve also brought back the Cappucino and Amaretto cakes.

Additionally, we have many new Tea Cozies at the store and a line of brand new accessories – infuser mugs, tea & jar sets, cast iron teapots and porcelain spoons. A new tea cozy line from Canada has turned out to be particularly fun.

Thinking Spring..

We’re thinking positive and hoping for an early Spring. In that vein, we’ve added some brighter, fun accessories to our Tea Room shelves. New tea cozies are available in beautiful patterns. Some of you have been asking what happened to our other style of cozy. Well, the manufacturer is having all kinds of problems so this is our alternative for now and I must say I like them. Our new china mugs with infusers are also spring-like and cheerful – the pastel mugs are on a Valentine-themed table mat and aren’t the Dutch Iris mugs just lovely! Don’t miss the gourmet popcorn behind them – another great Fancy Food Show find.

One of our customers placed an order yesterday for a Black Tea Sampler and Cookies & Tea gift for a friend. In error, she put her own address as the Ship To destination instead of her friend’s. She wrote us an e-mail explaining the error and we changed it of course and acknowledged it with a confirmation. In return, she sent us an e-mail this morning which read: I knew I would get personal care from my favorite tea shop! Thanks for the appreciation!

A good weekend for Tea

Beautiful bright sunny day in early December – I found the Tearoom bathed in sunlight this morning and took some pictures. We now have our green and red tablecloths on each table and the overall effect is just wonderful. Seasonal items are on the shelves and lunch is ready and the tea is hot. Come pay us a visit. Our soups today are Leek & Cabbage, and Barley & Lentil with Caraway Seeds. New accessories have been added – a Tea Set in an old-fashioned pattern and some infuser mugs with acorns and poinsettias.
