BOOK ON MAKAIBARI

A book on Makaibari was officially launched in Calcutta, India last week, “The Rajah of Darjeeling Organic Tea”. Published by Cambridge University Press, it’s an impressive coffee-table book, with glorious pictures, anecdotes on Makaibari, its people and philosophy, and the impact of its sustainable agricultural practices. As a bonus, a copy of the CD, “The Lord of Darjeeling” is tucked inside the back cover. This is a movie-quality documentary by the award-winning French filmmaker Xavier de Lauzanne which captures the spirit of Makaibari.

We will soon have it in stock and will make it available on our site and through our wholesale catalogues. Meanwhile, enjoy the pictures of the launch. On the left you see Harsh Neotia, Makaibari’s official partner for Eco-Tourism, Vir Sanghvi, acclaimed journalist in the middle, and Rajah Banerjee, the author, on the right.
