World Tea Expo

Just back from the 2008 World Tea Expo at Las Vegas. The highlight of the show was having Rajah here from Makaibari. He is the 4th generation owner of Makaibari and part of my family. Rajah and Norwood Pratt, the renowned author, conducted tastings of the most recent Makaibari 2nd flush teas which had been specially brought in just for the occasion. They regaled the crowds with their anecdotes, depth of knowledge, their comfortable camraderie with each other and their charm.

A couple of years ago, Norwood had visited Rajah at Makaibari. Rajah presented Norwood with a Darjeeling Planters’ Club tie. How serendipitous that on this day, they both showed up wearing the same tie! The crowd loved it.
